At this year’s @Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global in Barcelona on May 7th, Donau Soja had the opportunity to host a high-level panel on Sustainability in Aquafeed: Aligning Supply Chains with EU Requirements – tackling one of the most pressing issues in aquaculture today: how to source feed ingredients like soya responsibly and in line with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
The discussion made clear:
✔ Sustainability and regulatory compliance must go hand in hand
✔ The EUDR is not just a challenge—it’s a catalyst for transparency and transformation
✔Regional, certified soya can significantly reduce CO₂ footprints
✔ Collaboration between feed producers, certifiers, and value chains is essential
✔ Digital tools like Donau Soja’s Crop Insights help make EUDR compliance practical and inclusive – especially for smallholders
A sincere thank you to the organisers of @Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global for making this platform possible – and to our panellists from Skretting, Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), Global Seafood Alliance (GSA) for their insights and engagement.
