European Commission published updated EUDR guidance
18 Aug, 2025
The European Commission has released and updated the guidance document for the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR): EUR-Lex – 52025XC04524 – EN – EUR-Lex
The updated guidance confirms the current implementation timeline:  medium-sized and large companies must comply starting from 30 December 2025, while micro and small companies will have an additional six months to meet the requirements.  Among the key clarifications, the Commission has defined “negligible risk” as a situation where there is solid evidence that a product complies with EUDR obligations. It also specifies that the conversion of forest land to non-agricultural use does not fall under the definition of deforestation in the regulation.
