The European Commission has published the universal reference number for due diligence statements under the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). This reference number is a universal and uniform reference number that any operator exporting or reimporting a product may use instead of obtaining a regular DDS reference number. According to FAQ 9.2 of the European Commission (as of April 2025), the universal reference number must be indicated in customs declarations for products that were already placed on the market before 30 December 2025.
