EUDR country benchmark published
22 May, 2025

The European Commission has published the EUDR country benchmark, ranking all producing countries as “low”, “standard”, or “high” risk. This timely publication confirms that the EUDR remains on schedule and will not be postponed due to the benchmark.
All EU Member States and most European countries have been classified as low-risk.

What does Low-Risk Status mean?
Low-risk status allows for a simplified due diligence process, but it is important to note that companies must still meet all information obligations under Article 9, which includes:

  • Collecting geolocation data of the plots where soya is produced
  • Proving deforestation-free status and legal production
  • Assessing the supply chain’s complexity and the risk of mixing with products from higher-risk or unknown sources

With Crop Insights companies have access to effective tools for establishing EUDR-compliant and truly sustainable soya supply chains.
